Here’s a look at some of the events to be offered at the link, a “Space That Inspires” located at 425 Town Plaza Ave., Ponte Vedra.

Free Women’s Self-Defense Workshop with jiu jitsu instructor Danny Yakel: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5.

This course will cover some of the most common and dangerous threats against women. It will cover basic techniques to help participants understand situational awareness, psychological preparation and physical aspects of self-defense.

The course will be 1.5 hours long with breaks and time for questions. Participants should wear comfortable clothing they can move around in. Remember to bring something to drink.

Danny Yakel began his training in the US Army while serving in special forces in 2004. After retiring from the Army, he continued to train and progressed through the jiu jitsu ranks to achieve his black belt in 2016.

Improv Comedy Night, 4:30 pm Sunday, March 6. Doors open at 4 pm Admission is $10. This is a family-friendly show. These veteran comedy professionals will perform a show without a plan! They’ll willingly dive headfirst into almost any challenge the audience throws at them, resulting in unforgettably hilarious moments. YinLighten — Connecting to the Heart of You 2022. Begins Monday, March 7, in Studio B. These 10 weekly classes led by Chez Leeby and Margo Park are held from 6:30 to 8 pm Cost is $450, though individual prorated classes are also available. Each class incorporates 45 minutes of yin yoga, 45 minutes of Lighten Your Life and Artichoke Alchemy coursework.

She graduated from Vanderbilt University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees and earned her doctorate from the University of Florida in agency, correctional and developmental counseling. Spring Camp: Olympic Style Fencing. Alan Chernomashentsev will teach this camp at 9 am to noon March 14-16 in Studio B. Cost is $150. This class is for ages 6-13. Please note: a minimum of four campers is needed to operate the camp.

Chernomashentsev has more than 30 years of fencing and coaching experience. He began fencing at the age of 9 in Lvov, Ukraine, earned the title Master of Sport of Fencing in the Soviet Union by the age of 17. He graduated from the Institute of Physical Education in Leningrad, USSR

Ranked second in veteran men’s foil in 2018 by USA Fencing, the sport’s national governing body, he had the honor of representing Team USA at the 2018 Veteran World Championships in Livorno, Italy, achieving a fourth-place finish internationally.

Previous honors include Silver Medal, North American Cup (April 2017); Bronze Medal, North American Cup (April 2016); Gold Medal, USA Fencing National Championships (July 2010); Gold Medal, North American Cup (April 2010); Bronze Medal, USA Fencing National Championships (July 2009).

LEGO Robotics with Coach Ivan Ramirez is moving ahead with this year’s theme of Cargo Connect. Learn how to code on iPads provided, build your creation/project, power your project and compete!

Arts & Crafts with Coach Johanna Lawson will help you bring out your inner artist with some fun creative projects.

Indoor Tennis Movements with Coach Ivan Ramirez will teach kids some basic skills of the world of tennis. These fun drills are all indoors using Nerf-style tennis balls.

CodeSpark Coding & Video Game Design Spring Break Camp: 1-5 pm March 14-18 in Studio B. Hosted by Lauren Wade. For ages 7 to 12. Cost is $299. Open to members and nonmembers.

During this camp, participants will work through codeSpark Academy puzzles to teach the fundamentals of computer programming with a visual coding language. Also, they will create and play their own video games.

Participants will learn code not just on the screen but also through dance and movement and even strategy-based water balloon fights!

Kids should bring their own devices each day to camp. codeSpark Academy is available for all device types, so there should not be compatibility issues. If a participant does not have a device, a loaner device will be provided at camp each day.

Lauren Wade is a graduate of the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She has worked as a classroom teacher since 2007, teaching grades K through five. In 2017, she was named a district finalist for St. Johns County Teacher of the Year. Throughout her career, Lauren has focused on integrating technology, either by piloting laptop/iPad classes or through coaching fellow educators in the use of technology.

Schuenke was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, and received her education in Cologne and London, earning her doctorate at the University of Cologne in 1986. Since then, she has been living and working successfully in the United States while maintaining strong and lively connections with Europe .

Her fine oil paintings and watercolors possess the technical old-master quality. Her unique stylizations and the rich nuances of her palette enhance her compositions. The panorama of Susanne’s artistic content moves from lyric-narrative stories to philosophical themes and socio-political topics.

In her narrative surrealistic artwork, one can find fascinating connections between form and color, discover an animated dialogue, or start a meditative journey into new dimensions.

Schuenke has presented her works to an international public in one-person and group exhibitions in England, Germany, France and the United States.

The instructor is Tisha Boltz, who has been creating arrangements of all kinds for the past 40 years. Her assistant is Miranda Wilson, who has been in the wedding industry for the last six years.
